Creating a Turnitin Account

This video shows you how to create a turnitin account, using the following steps.

  1. Go to http://www.turnitin.com and click on "Create an account" in the top right corner of the page
  2. Put in your school email address & create a password to use for turnitin then click "Student"
  3. Put in the class ID code (provided to you by your teacher), along with the enrolment password.
  4. Fill the rest of the form details, click agree.
  5. Click on the class (not the teacher's name, that gets you nowhere), then click on "Submit"
  6. Change the drop-down menu to "single file upload", give an appropriate title – like the topic you chose for your physics assignment, then click upload.
  7. Once uploaded, Turnitin will take some time to process it – you can close the window once it has finished uploading. Processing can take up to 24hrs depending on how busy turnitin's web traffic is.

If you are experiencing trouble, such as that there already exists an account for that email address, then simply click the "Forgotten your password? Click Here" option on the login page. A temporary password should be sent to your school email address, to use to log into Turnitin.
